Maps

Cornell is a big place but we have some excellent maps that can show you where to park and how to get to the ILR Conference Center (where the conference is...mostly.)

  1. Goldwin Smith Hall: Opening Plenary, Thursday

  2. ILR Conference Center: Sessions and Plenaries, Friday and Saturday

  3. Statler Hotel: Reception, Thursday; Dinner, Friday

  4. Big Red Barn: Reception, Saturday

Transportation

Transportation: Ithaca has a great airport, served by Delta, United, and USAir. The airport search code is: ITH. Other options are to fly into Syracuse, Binghamton, or Elmira, all of which are an hour or less away. You can also fly into NYC and take the ever-posh Cornell Campus-to-Campus bus from Midtown straight to Cornell.

Syracuse to Ithaca: Shuttle service runs from Syracuse to Ithaca here. It is not close, and it is not cheap (about the same as coming from NYC) but it runs.

Lodging

Please book your room early as there are two other large conferences the same weekend!

The most convenient hotel is Cornell’s own Statler - Cornell University Hotel. We do not have a block of rooms reserved there, but you may certainly book there at the regular rate. It is nice and very convenient (a very short walk to the conference venue).

You might also consider other excellent hotels downtown, including the beautiful and convenient William Henry Miller Inn - Bed and Breakfast, or one of a wide number of other options available throughout the area. This site has many other places, including B&Bs, to stay:  http://www.visitithaca.com/lodging/bb-inns   This is a nice site because you can check availability online at a number of places.

You might also consider renting a home, a room, or a couch from Airbnb or Couchsurfing. There are some beautiful homes in Ithaca that could be shared with other conferees.
